New Red Meat Sector Strategy Launched

Thu, 5/05/2011 5:00:00 p.m.

The Red Meat Sector Strategy, initiated by the Meat Industry Association (MIA) and Beef and Lamb New Zealand, was launched on 4 May 2011 in Wellington.

Developed with unprecedented input from and collaboration amongst industry participants and underpinned by extensive data and in-depth analysis by Deloitte, the report identifies ways of achieving sustainable sector profitability and promotes re-investment in the industry.

Silver Fern Farms Chief Executive, Keith Cooper, said that the report validates the co-operative's plate-to-pasture strategy entirely and that the company’s shareholders can now be even more confident that the company is heading in the right direction.
